Celebrate Chinese New Year
Enjoy Dunedin's annual Chinese New Year celebrations with cultural performances, food and fireworks!
See out the Year of the Dragon and welcome in the Year of the Snake. Join the Dragon Parade from Princes Street to the Garden from 7pm.
The Garden opens at 7pm. Entry is a gold coin donation, and if you're feeling peckish there will be food trucks on site.
Saturday February 1 at the Lan Yuan Dunedin Chinese Garden
- 7pm Garden open with gold coin entry, food trucks
- 7pm Dragon parade from Princes Street to the Garden
- 7:15pm Dragon Dance
- 7:30pm Lion Dance, cultural performances and celebrations
- 10pm Grand Finale Fireworks
You can find Lan Yuan Dunedin Chinese Garden on the corner of Rattray and Cumberland Streets, opposite Queens Gardens and beside the Toitū Otago Settlers Museum.
