Matariki Hereka Waka is this year’s national Matariki theme, celebrating inclusion and encouraging people from all cultures and backgrounds to come together to share in the Māori New Year.
Our Māori student reps have organised a week of activities that reflect these values by creating opportunities for ākonga and kaimahi to connect through kai, cultural activities, learning experiences and whanaukataka.
The week acknowledges both Matariki and Puaka, which are significant to the Otago region. It provides a space to remember the past, celebrate the present and look forward to the year ahead together.
Check out our events below and add them to your calendar. Hope to see you there!
