The DataHub platform has been created to become Otago Polytechnic’s trusted source for institutional data and reporting.

It brings key programme data together in one place, reducing manual spreadsheets and ensuring we're all using consistent, reliable data to support everyday work and decision‑making.

How do I use DataHub?

DataHub overview  

DataHub does not replace reports in source systems such as EBS or CRM. 

If you need a list of names or more details, please continue to use source systems as you normally would, or log a service ticket for additional support with the relevant system. 

Where does the data come from?  

Data comes from the Azure Data Warehouse, which is refreshed daily from source systems overnight. The latest refresh date and time is shown at the top of DataHub (labelled “Latest Refresh”).  

DataHub quick tips 

Using filters

You can filter the data by selecting options in the drop‑down filters (for example: Course Year, College, Section). 

• You can check or uncheck multiple options in each filter. 
• For long lists, use the Search box to quickly find what you’re looking for. 
• The data on screen updates automatically based on the filters you apply. 
• Other filters will also update to show only relevant options.   

Programme filter 

The Programme Filter opens a separate menu of programme options. 

Click the X symbol to close the Programme Filter menu. 

Click the eraser icon to clear all Programme filters. 

Clearing filters 

To clear one filter, hover over it and click the small eraser icon. 

To clear all filters, click the Reset button at the top of the report. 

Sorting columns 

You can sort by clicking on a column heading. 

• Click once to sort the column (e.g. A-Z or smallest to largest).
• Click the same heading again to sort in the opposite direction. 

An arrow on the heading shows which way the data is currently sorted.
